Q: New York Shopping: I have always wanted to visit Macy’s Flagship store. I know the store is huge, but how much time do you think I’ll need to see it?
A: To say that Macy’s Flagship Store is “big” is a bit of an understatement. It’s the largest department store in the United States and it occupies an entire City block. Most people don’t want to see everything on all 10 floors, but it’s certainly possible to while away an entire day browsing the offerings at this popular spot for New York Shopping.
Q: I’ll be doing some NYC Shopping during the holidays, and I’m hoping to see some of the amazing window displays I’ve heard about. Do most of the stores near your Manhattan Hotel dress up their windows for the holidays?
A: The window displays at some of the iconic New York Shopping venues are amazing, and they are definitely worth seeing if you’ll be staying at our Manhattan Hotel during the holidays. Many shops and boutiques do something with their windows for the holidays, but the can’t-miss windows are those of the big retailers including Lord & Taylor, Barney’s, Bergdorf Goodman, and Macy’s Herald Square.
Q: NYC Shopping: I’ll be staying at your Manhattan Hotel, and I’d love to do some jewelry Shopping. Could you recommend some places for this type of New York Shopping?
A: If you’re doing some New York Shopping for jewelry, you’ll certainly have plenty of options. Some guests at our Manhattan Hotel want to go straight to the retailers such as Macy’s or Tiffany’s. Others choose to do their NYC Shopping for jewelry in the City’s Diamond District. More than 2,600 dealers can be found in the Diamond District, so if you can’t find what you’re looking for there, you can’t find it anywhere.
Q: I’m coming to your Manhattan Hotel with the sole purpose of doing some serious New York Shopping. I don’t want to have to lug my packages around all day, so I’m wondering if the stores will be willing to deliver my packages to your Hotel.
A: Guests at our Manhattan Hotel are happy to learn that many stores are happy to deliver their packages to our Hotel. This makes a New York Shopping excursion much more pleasant! While many stores do deliver, some do not, so be sure to ask before you begin your NYC Shopping spree.

A: Many of the top venues for New York Shopping are happy to ship packages to the customers’ homes. Of course, you’ll have to pay for the service, but many guests at our Manhattan Hotel would rather pay for shipping than try to bring their purchases home on a plane. Just stop by each store’s customer service desk for more information about having your purchases shipped to your home.
“Very pleasant place”Staff was helpful and gracious - easy access to subway if needed - doorman assisted with taxis - great service; housekeeping staff polite and considerate with sleeping in - they were quiet in the hallways - any special requests were honored. Staff at the bar said no problem for taking drinks to the room with a snack. Unfortunately did not try the restaurant - next time! Everyone was terrific - felt right at home.
“Lovely staff, great location, clean rooms”We were that English family! We came to New York to celebrate my sons 21st birthday. Kim was fantastically helpful when I told her it was my sons 21st. They decorated our room, left him some gifts, gave us vouchers for his first drink in the U.S., dealt with all our queries and were so friendly and welcoming. The hotel is in a great location - very central. The rooms are not huge, but we spent very little time in our room as we were out exploring. The rooms were very clean and the beds comfortable. There is no room service but there is a shop next door which does coffees, breakfasts and snacks and there is also a very good restaurant next door but one. I would recommend this hotel as a base for any families visiting New York.
“TREATED LIKE A QUEEN”Staying at the Double Tree Metroapolian in New York City is a wonderful experience that every traveler deserves to have. The location is great and the service is EXCELLENT..From check in to check out you are treated like royalty.
“Clean & Great Location”Stayed at the Double Tree in Midtown for 1 night. Good location - easy walk to Times Square for the Theater and lots of restaurants close by. Staff was friendly. Rooms were spacious and clean. Room on the 6th floor was suprisingly quiet. Parking is availabe under hotel at a reduced rate.
“Excellent choice for East Side locations”Close to subway and easy ingress/egress to LGA or JFK; rooms smaller than the Hilton on 6th Ave but big enough, clean and quiet; the staff could not be more accommodating and the cookies you get upon check-in are fabulous.
